Buluş, son evre kronik kalp yetmezliği olan hastalarda sol ventrikül işlevini desteklemek üzere bir sol ventrikül destek pompası (SVDP) ile ilgilidir. Buluşa konu cihaz, biyomekanik ve elektromekanik sistemlerin entegre çalışmasıyla kan pompalama işlevini yerine getirmektedir. Bahsi geçen SVDP?nin ana bileşenleri, ikinci kuşak tek kademeli eksenel akışlı türbin ve fırçasız doğru akım motorudur.
