A trademark registration certificate is valid for 10 years in Turkey. That period gives the owner the right to use and protect the registered mark. If the owner wants to keep the mark protected after 10 years, renewal is required. In the renewal process, the trademark application date counts as the start. The renewal window opens 6 months before the 10-year mark. Renewal can be done within that window. The renewal application must be filed within the 6 months before the protection period ends. If the window is missed, a 6-month extension is available for an additional fee.
