Is a Trademark Search the Same as a Trademark Application?

A trademark search and a trademark application are two different procedures. A search is carried out to review existing records and assess the possible risks. A trademark application, on the other hand, is the submission of a formal protection request to TÜRKPATENT for the goods and services that have been determined.

Running a search alone does not create a trademark right and does not establish priority over the term concerned. To claim protection, the appropriate scope must be determined and a formal trademark application must be filed.
