Trademark Registration Certificate
When Does the Trademark Registration Certificate Arrive?
When the trademark registration certificate arrives depends on several factors, and on average it takes 7 to 9 months from the application. TÜRKPATENT (the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office) runs a formal and substantive examination. If approved, the mark is published in the Trademark Bulletin for 2 months. Without opposition during that period, the process moves to the next stage. The timeline can stretch or shorten based on oppositions and the number of classes.
After the bulletin period ends, TÜRKPATENT issues the registration decision. At this stage, the registration and certificate fees are paid. Once paid, TÜRKPATENT prepares the trademark registration certificate. The certificate is delivered electronically through TÜRKPATENT's official system. A copy of the electronic certificate reaches the owner digitally. The PDF electronic certificate can also be downloaded through EPATS. When a physical certificate is requested, TÜRKPATENT can also send a hard copy. That depends on the owner's preference and TÜRKPATENT's workload. Postal delivery usually adds 1 to 2 weeks.
